What is carbon capture?

Can carbon capture help slow down climate change?

Many countries have promised that by 2050 they’ll remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they add – something called net zero. It’s a big challenge and scientists are trying to come up with new ways to help hit this target.

In this episode, Scarlett discovers how trees on land and phytoplankton in our oceans absorb carbon dioxide – and why they need our help to keep doing so. Meanwhile, Jeriah visits carbon capture facility and talks to engineering students about new inventions that help remove carbon from the atmosphere.
